Photo Retouching and Restoration

My services in this category start with simple overall image correction operations, such as colour and exposure adjustments, rotation to make the horizon level, and selective cropping to improve composition. More advanced operations include dust, blemish, and scratch removal, and selective colour adjustments to parts of the image. I can also put torn images back together, although missing sections can be difficult to fill convincingly.

Portrait Enhancement

This category includes services ranging from simple red-eye and skin tone correction, through skin blemish and wrinkle reduction, teeth whitening and small background object removal, to photographic 'cosmetic surgery' and full background replacement. I can also apply a range of creative effects, for example to give a 'soft focus' look to the picture, or to make it look like a painting.

Slide Show Generation

I can put a number of your pictures together to form a video slide show. This is then burnt onto DVD, complete with interactive menus, etc., so that you can play it on almost any standard DVD player and TV, and therefore share the result with your family and friends. I can also add a custom musical sound track to your slide show, recorded by myself on a professional-quality synthesizer, and arranged to fit the length of your show. If you can supply me with a recording of a spoken commentary, I can add that to the sound track as well.

Film and Print Scanning

These services are intended primarily to provide a route into my other services for those photos that have not already been digitised, rather than a standalone service. As well as various digital picture formats, I can accept your pictures as either 35mm film (negatives or transparencies) or paper prints. I will then scan each picture individually to convert it to digital form, and apply basic retouching operations.

Printing

As an additional option for my photo retouching and portrait enhancement services described above, I can also provide high quality prints of the results of my work, using an Epson R2400 printer. In addition to giving superb quality output, this printer uses inks designed to give the resulting print a very long life - Epson claim 70-80 years under normal interior lighting conditions. However, the prints should not be subjected to prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. I also provide a selection of frames and mounts for you to choose from, so that the prints can be ready to hang on your wall as soon as you received them.
